EarthKAM

4 April 2011

U.S. and NASA-based activities have continued to emphasize the International Space Station (ISS) as an important role as a platform for students and educators and reaching out to international educational communities. The ISS EarthKAM programme (Earth Knowledge Acquired by Middle school students) allows middle school students and teachers to take pictures of the Earth from a digital camera on board the ISS. During SRS EarthKAM Mission ISS 11_07a in April 2011, over 14,000 students participated from 132 different U.S. schools and 39 from around the world.
