 | NASA Mars mission escapes US government shutdown, will launch

NASA says it next mission to Mars has been cleared for takeoff amid fears the U.S. government shutdown could cause it to miss its launch window. The Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN mission, or MAVEN, was set for launch as early as Nov. 18.
